MVMC is proud to be participating in a charitable event that has helped nearly 60,000 service animals receive free screenings over the past ten years. Sarah Blackwood, DVM, DACVO, one of MVMC's newest specialist has participated in the program for many years and enjoys giving back, especially to those who give so much.
The ACVO/Stokes National Service Animal Eye Event is a philanthropic effort provided to the public by the board certified Diplomats of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists; ophthalmologists who donate their time, staff and services to provide free screenings and ocular exams to qualified Service and Working Animals. The program benefits formally trained working animals who selflessly care for us all. Registration is open April 1st-30th annually; approximately 7,500 eye exams are provided across America, Canada and Puerto Rico each May (source: https://www.acvoeyeexam.org/).
Complimentary screenings will be offered Saturday, May 5th from 9a-3pm.
Please try to arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
There will be refreshments, grilled hot dogs, music, participant gift bags, a raffle and more.
Help us spread the word!
Please share the event with anyone who might know of a service dog that may benefit!
Gracias! SEE you May 5th!
