Annie Malouin Wright, DVM, DACVECC, Medical Director
Dr. Annie Wright is a Board Certified Criticalist and a member of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She earned her Veterinary Doctorate from the University of Montreal in 2000. She then completed a rotating small animal internship at Noah’s Animal Hospital and Indiana Surgery specialist in Indianapolis, IN. Thereafter, she accomplished a residency in small animal emergency and critical care at the Animal Emergency Clinic, in Youngstown OH and completed a 2 years Critical Care lectureship at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Since becoming Board Certified in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2006, Dr. Wright has lectured in many States for diverse Veterinary Associations and she has worked at Veterinary Specialty Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA, Sacramento, CA, Norwalk, CT, and Minneapolis, MN. She has recently moved to Maine with her family and joined our team at MVMC. She serves as the Medical Director for the Emergency Services at MVMC.
Dr. Wright has special interests in the treatment of shock, acute renal failure, electrolyte disturbances and critically ill cats. She is published in the Journal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and has written chapters in several Small Animal Textbooks. Also, throughout her career she has been involved in the medical care of law-enforcement working dogs. She currently teaches nationally for K9 Medic, providing emergency medical training of operational canines to military and federal law enforcement medics and handlers.
Dr. Wright lives in Scarborough with her husband and two children and their pets. She loves the outdoors, running, riding her bike and sewing.
