*** We are so excited to announce a concrete schedule for the arrival of MVMC’s new MRI unit! On April 15th our current MRI will be dismantled, and on the 16th the new unit will arrive. Our team will be working hard to transition swiftly and successfully over the weeks to come. Please call ahead if you are a veterinarian referring a patient to our neurology team or an owner bringing your own pet in for neurologic evaluation. We will be assessing the availability of advanced imaging in real time; on a case-by-case basis. ***

Specialty and Non-emergency Cases

  2. Book an appointment at MVMC
  3. Send referring hospital medical records of patient to SPL@mvmc.vet

We do everything we can to ensure our relationship with you is positive, open, and seamless. When your patients are undergoing treatment at Maine Veterinary Medical Center, you can expect frequent telephone updates and written reports on your patient’s diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis for quality of life following treatment. We will work with you and your clients to make informed decisions about your patients’ recovery.

To refer a patient to Maine Veterinary Medical Center, please provide the following information:

  • Copy of relevant medical chart information
  • Copy of laboratory results
  • Radiographs

PLEASE NOTE: Your client will need to call MVMC to make an appointment related to this referral. We appreciate you providing us with the necessary records and information now so we are better prepared for when your client reaches out. Once the client has checked in at MVMC, you will receive an email with a link to our Instinct Portal, where you can view your patient’s chart and updates. Thank you!
