Current Clinical Trials
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Targeted Interlesional therapy for treatment of SCC
Purpose: Investigate a potential new treatment to stop squamous cell carcinoma progression and/or reduce evidence of disease.
How it works: Over the course of approximately 4 months, the patient will present for 11 visits to MVMC that will include physical examinations, lab work, and the study treatment.
The study covers all related costs, including:
- Physical exams
- Lab work
- Study Treatment
Refer any dog diagnosed with SCC to MVMC for SCC treatment, and if they qualify and enroll in the study, the referrer will be compensated with a $1,000 bonus. The bonus will be paid for each case referred.
Osteosarcoma
Autologous Canine Cancer Vaccine with Checkpoint Inhibitor for Treatment of Osteosarcoma
Purpose: Determine if combining surgery with the experimental treatment results in increased survival vs. surgery and chemotherapy alone.
How it works: There will be two treatments groups:
- Surgery/amputation + experimental immunotherapy
- Surgery/amputation + chemotherapy (carboplatin)
Owner is financially responsible for all screening (consult, lab work, radiographs, abdominal ultrasound+/- cytology at DVM discretion) ~$2300.
Owner’s will receive a $1500 stipend toward amputation.
When enrolled into the study the participant will be enrolled into one of the groups – carboplatin or immunotherapy. These appointments will all be covered by the trial.
If chemotherapy fails for the patient, they will be offered the experimental immunotherapy at no cost.
